Knee Replacement Cutting Guide
From a CT scan of a patient, a custom surgical guide can be produced. For many procedures, including knee replacement sugery, this technology can greatly improve safety, effectiveness, and recovery time. However, this technology has historically been very expensive and thus many Orthopedic surgeons opt for more traditional methods. I undertook a research project alongside an Orthopedic surgeon to create an open source methodology for the affordable creation of such guides.
